With all the wildfires that happen in the western United States, it is good to think about FireWise principles when building or remodeling your property. The exterior of your home as well as your outbuildings and your lot or acreage can benefit when FireWise principles are used. FireWise principals serve to help protect your property and you, your family, your pets’ and livestock’s lives. I am a Native Texan, living in the Austin Texas area. I well remember the Summer of 2011 when our area experienced severe drought, high heat and several fires. The worst in the Austin Texas area was the Bastrop Texas fire called the Bastrop County Complex Fire.
